NAMING AND KNOWING:
INDIGENOUS PLANTS OF THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS

Kwiáht, Center for the Historical Ecology of the Salish Sea, is a biological research facility whose work provides support for sound stewardship of the San Juan Islands ecosystems. ‘Naming and Knowing’ is a publication aimed at familiarizing community members with a selection of plants (and a few animals!) native to the San Juan Islands in Washington State in terms of their scientific roots, as well placing them in context with their cultural importance to the Coast Salish community.
